Surgical Nursing Expert Review
Perioperative Expertise for Legal Matters
With more than 12 years of adult and pediatric operating-room experience, I review surgical cases from the perspective of an experienced perioperative nurse.
My analysis may include preoperative preparation, intraoperative nursing care, patient positioning, surgical counts, specimen handling, medication practices, communication, documentation, postoperative monitoring, and responses to changes in the patient’s condition.
I evaluate the documented nursing care against the applicable nursing standard of care and clearly distinguish the medical-record evidence from clinical interpretation. Opinions are limited to nursing matters within my professional qualifications and experience.
